How To Correctly Store Your Lash Glue?
One of the key elements of building a prosperous lash business with satisfied and loyal customers is using fresh lash glue. If your lash glue isn’t at its optimum strength then your client’s lashes won’t last and if that keeps happening then unfortunately neither will your business. So, if you’re committed to ensuring the success of your business, you’ll want to make sure that you’re not only utilizing the right glue for your environment, but that you’re also keeping that glue appropriately so that it’s always at its strongest. It’s significant to note that the proper lash glue storage depends on whether it has been opened or not.
With Unopened Lash Glue:
- Put silica/oxygen absorber packets in a small airtight container and keep them upright.
- Never store the glue with any other items because they can include components that cause the glue to lose its effectiveness (for example high alcohol-based lash primers).
- Up to three months after purchase, unopened glue bottle storage in the refrigerator is recommended.
- Keep your lash glue away from temperature changes, especially high temperatures (over 27 degrees celsius).
- Keep your lash glue out of the sun (a drawer or cupboard is suitable, or in the fridge until ready to open).
- Every time the fresh stock is received, rotate.
- If your lash glue has been sitting out for more than three months, don’t use it.
- Important: Once your Lash glue bottle has been opened, it can’t be placed back in the refrigerator because the extreme temperature changes cause condensation to collect on the inside of the bottle, which will accelerate the degradation of the adhesive and cause it to lose strength, which leads to poor lash retention.
Opened Lash Glue:
- Instead of the refrigerator, place the tiny airtight container containing silica/oxygen absorbers in a cool, dark drawer or cabinet.
- Avoid high temperatures (above 27 Degrees Celsius)
- A thermos cup may be the best option for preserving a constant temperature.
- Ensure the lid is dry and securely fastened after each usage. Glue wipes are a great way to maintain the nozzle clear and clean.
- Avoid storing any other cosmetics (primers, cleansers, etc.) with the lash glue because they frequently contain elements that can polymerize it. Just keep in mind that Lash glue has no pals besides the lashes!
- Regardless of how many times it has been used, change your lash glue every 30 days for maximum strength.
- Always keep a fresh backup bottle on hand and ready to use.
- Avoid the error of trying to cut costs by extending the shelf life of your glue because it could cost you more in lost customers.
